George Takei as his new on-air personality. Takei, who played Sulu on “Star Trek” and who last year publicly said he is gay, will serve as announcer. After the first week, he will record segments for the show but will not be in the studio.
“The revolution has begun” in new radio, Takei said Monday.
Howard Stern is a pig, but he doesn’t pretend to be anything else. Have to admit he seems to be a pretty open-minded pig. Glad to hear he is promoting another gay voice to the “mainstream.” I have to wonder, though, if Takei gets creative control of his segments, or if he will just mouth whatever Stern wants in order to pay his bills.
I used to like Howard Stern, and thought he was sort of campy and shocking. I lost my interest when he failed to get tired of his Beavis and Butthead-esqe enjoyment of the parade of sad plastic women.
