Fire Destroys 'Lost' Star's Home

Posted on December 20, 2006 by CD

This is pretty weird, I can confirm that the house that burned down was where Evangeline Lilly used to live. Before I was a full time student, I used to do some driving for Carey Limousine here on Oahu. Last Christmas I had an early morning pickup going to the airport listed under the alias ‘Annie Hall’. It was on Iana street. It was strange because I had bought a surfboard at a garage sale at the same house about a year earlier when the previous residents were moving out. Anyway, ‘Annie Hall’ wasn’t there but her gorgeous roommates handed me a big dish filled with raw fish and gave me a different address that I was to pick her up at. That turned out to be Dominic Monaghan’s house (which incidentally is right down the street from Mink Hippie and my little bungalow). So anyway, I arrived at Dominic’s carrying a platter of raw fish and wearing a pin stripe suit at 7am and knocked on the door. I hadn’t really watched Lost much yet and when she opened the door, I thought she was actually my boss’s girlfriend (they look alike) and started joking around with her. In any event, it was Evangeline Lilly and we had a nice conversation over the next 40 minutes as we went to the airport. She even recommended a book that I enjoyed immensley (Griffin & Sabine: An Extraordinary Correspondence) Anyway…I’m terribly sorry that her house burned down. She is a very cool chick. Another odd thing about this is that I decided to climb up a hill near our house this morning and watch the sunrise…as I was climbing I looked down and saw a house burning on the other side….it didn’t even occur to me that it was Evangeline’s. Total bummer. I hope her and her roommate are both alright and that they haven’t lost anything irreplacable.

Fire crews battled a fire that destroyed a home where neighbors say “Lost” star Evangeline Lilly lives in Kailua Wednesday morning.
The blaze started before 7 a.m. on Iana Street.By the time crews got there the house was engulfed in flames, a Honolulu Fire Department captain said.
Neighbors said that Lilly was not in the house at the time of the fire.
Police said that they are trying to determine the whereabouts of two people who are known to live in the home.
Lilly’s publicist’s office would not confirm whether the star lived at the home.
