Senseless acts of vandalism? Maybe…

Posted on May 26, 2006 by CD

Okay, this is happening in my neighborhood, I find it funny that the police are saying that the smashng is indiscriminate of make or model. I would guess that there is a connection. I wish I knew what the makes and models were. If I were to guess, I would guess that they are luxury cars in front of luxury homes. I would guess that this is a bit of indigenous violence from low income locals against high income immigrants. If that is not the case, I would guess that this is a very targeted revenge attack against people that have offended someone. If I am not mistaken, the Unabombers attacks were supposedly indiscriminate but once they found him, they found that they were anything but indiscriminate….

Every night, for the past 10 nights, someone’s car in Kailua has been trashed.
One night, an off-duty officer caught a glimpse of the men as they ran away laughing.
A truck parked in the front yard of Alvin Pineda’s house didn’t keep the group from attacking. Vandals smashed his windshield. He suspects it was hit with a hammer.
“(It’s) just a random act of violence. They just want to come and do something to intimidate you or whatever,” Pineda said.
“Starting from the 15th, there’s been approximately 10 vehicles that had their front windows or rear windows smashed,” Lt. Eric Brown said.
From Lanikai to Enchanted Lake, the vandals have hit vehicles indiscriminate of their make and model.
