Bummer for Mel Gibson. I imagine it isn’t as hard to suffer the humiliation and personal shame of a DUI when you can afford good lawyers, but then again, maybe it’s worse. When I had my DUI back in the 90’s, I didn’t have the money for a lawyer and yet made too much to get a public defender. The result was that I was that fool acting as my own lawyer in court. They nailed me. The only consolation was that they served pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving in the Whatcom County Jail. That was nice. Maybe this is the test to see if God exists and will help out this guy that has given so much money to the Catholic Church….then again…maybe not..

Mel Gibson Arrested for DUI
Mel Gibson, 50, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving at 2:36 a.m. Friday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The actor-director was detained while driving along Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, said Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the sheriff’s department. Gibson was booked and later released from custody.
