Before I leave Serbia (actaully, I already have) I want to give a quick impression of Nis which is the first stop from Sofia, Bulgaria when you enter Serbia by bus and in my case, was also the last stop before I left for Skopje, Macedonia (also by bus).
My trip to the Balkans was a last minute decision and since I had to fly back to Morocco, then back to Istanbul and then onward to South Korea – it was more rushed than I would have preferred.
Much of Skopje is new and modern but walking through the fort, up the hill, and here and there, I did notice a few holes.
Travel around the world and you are sure to want to write about it. One thing you will discover is that finding the time to write about your travels isn’t always easy. Far too often you have to put things off until you have some down time and if you are doing things right, you won’t have much of that!
I took a night bus to Sofia, a night train to Istanbul, and a night flight to Casablanca followed by a day train to Fes, a grand taxi to Sefrou, and a petit taxi to the Souidi house and I got to deliver the flowers myself. From the smile on her face (and of course her words and kisses), I think my Valentines surprise did the trick. The only problem is …how the hell am I ever going to top that next year?
