Here is the full list of Jakarta Hostels
There are no shortage of hotels in Jakarta. Here is the complete list for you. Jakarta Hotels
Jakarta is filled with big corporate hotels but one thing you will have a hard time finding is a good old hostel. Most of them are incredibly dreary.
Well, my friends, you are in luck. I’ve found a wonderful place for you to stay. I got to the Sunny Day Hostel where a dorm bed costs $18 per night and I didn’t want to leave. It’s a modern apartment turned into a hostel in a secure apartment complex complete with pool, hot tub, on site restaurants and more. Not only that but the staff is wonderful and it’s centrally located and easy to explore Jakarta from. There aren’t a lot of beds here but you have your choice of a two bed room or the common room which has 10 beds in it. Wonderful place and at $18 a night, perhaps my favorite hostel ever.
Here are a couple of other places you won’t find on the list of hotels. The first was where I stayed my first night arriving in Jakarta. I was looking for a cheap hotel and asked a friend who knew of this one. At about $21 a night, it wasn’t a value, bu the owners were quite nice. In the morning, the air conditioner caught on fire.

My second night, I again asked for help to find a cheap hotel and in this case was directed to Ciubur, a district of Jakarta known for parties and fun. I was kind of sick and after searching for hours and finding everything full finally found a vacancy at
Ciubur Indah Hotel. They had lots of vacancies since they are a love motel and offered me six hours, twelve hours, or 24 hours at rates of $15, $21, or $30. I took the 12 hour option and fell into a fevered sleep whilst listening to the sounds of boomboom.
Not recommended for solo travellers or for anyone else for that matter, but if you want to see it, it’s at:
