While I love being a world traveler, sometimes I long for Hawaii and the amazing things you can do for free there. Even a big commercial city like Honolulu offers tons of free things to do. Here are my top 10 things to do for free in Honolulu
1) Hike to Manoa Falls and enjoy the tropical rainforest
2) Go to Ala Moana Beach Park for surfing, snorkeling, and sunbathing
3) Friday night movies on the beach in Waikiki
4) Free Hula and Torchlighting every night in Waikiki
5) Walk through the historic district of Honolulu

6) Once a month First Friday Gallery Walk in Chinatown
7) Eating a picnic lunch on the Iolani Palace grounds
8) Watching tourists hang leis on the statue of Duke Kahanamoku
9) Sunsets from Magic Island with a perfect view of surfers
10) Sledding down the big grass hills with local kids on cardboard boxes at Kakaoako Beach Park
Honolulu is probably one of the greatest cities in the world for incredible free activities. I could list hundreds, but these are the ten that make me smile at the moment.

Hi V – todays temp is 5 – I am in “South Canada” so its bundly today – thanks for posting your top 10 for my cloudcast day – here are a few of mine –
11. Climb Diamond Head
12. Pearl Harbour is also a no pay zone although they do take donations
13. Ride the Hilo Hattie Trolley – will take you to Hilo Hattie and all around
14. Walk through Waikiki market and just browse
15. Tourist watching…. need I say more?
16. Go to the East side and visit with Patrick Ching at his art gallery – awesome guy to chat with about the culture of Hawaii
17. There are these free advertisement magazine racks setup all over. The best ad mag is a very small coupon book. Within it are a number of freebie items just for visiting certain stores. Of course there are a few buy one-get one free coupons as well.
18. Just sit and relax – turn off your phone and iPod – lapping of waves and Hawaii air has the scent of Plumeria and Ginger – quite relaxing
Ah, dreaming. The rain in Manisa is great but I do think of Lanikai Beach more than a little.

Wondering in case you can support me out here. I sent US Airlines letter to obtain a refund on my dearly departed dad’s airline ticket and have not hear back from them. Do you might have any ideas of how I can get a hold of them?
